While Fester was recently selling RVs at a big trade show in Hershey, PA, he had someone who is younger – and arguably better looking – occupying his seat in the MJ Morning Show studio.
That someone was Babs, a longtime member of the Beasley Media Group who has been a key player on the Orlando and the Freakshow morning show on Wild 94.1 FM. That radio station is just down the hall from Q105.
Babs, whose real name is Shandra Littleton, brought a breath of fresh air to the MJ Morning Show for three mornings during Fester’s absence. She has an engaging voice and infectious laugh. She’s also noticeably younger than MJ, Michelle, Fester, and Andrew, all of whom are over 50.
When MJ was talking about the story of one of the Cars and Coffee founders who was in a fatal car accident with a Hooters waitress from Lakeland while the two were driving out in Southern California, Babs interjected that the young man must have “flewd” her out to California, a term MJ hadn’t heard before but found very funny. She also poked fun at some of the Morons in the News MJ talked about who, in her opinion as a black female, were probably the same race as her based on their names or behaviors. Plus, She shared some entertaining stories about past romantic relationships she’s had in her life.
In addition to her personality and sense of humor, she showed her vulnerable side by speaking about her drug addiction from years ago and how she was able to overcome it. She said Beasley even helped cover her stint in rehab.
We all of course love the MJ Morning Show crew, but sometimes it’s nice to hear different voices like Babs come onto the show once in a while to bring a unique perspective to the table. We also got to hear Andy Signore of the popular YouTube show Popcorned Planet during one of Babs’ appearances. He added his own vibe and knowledge of celebrity stories to the program as well.
